In April, we shared with you consumers’ understanding of hearing loss and what can be considered normal hearing. Beyond their understanding of hearing loss, respondents were surveyed about where they prioritize health conditions and life activities, and how they manage their hearing health.
Did you know:
- People prioritize many other conditions and activities over their hearing health.
- When they do take steps to treat their hearing health, hearing aids and implantable solutions are considered later along their path to treating hearing loss.
What’s Being Done Today
The Hearing Health Collaborative is working to establish a standard of care for hearing health in the US. To start, they must uncover why so many deprioritize their hearing health and the common misconceptions of treating hearing loss.
Unfortunately, most believe that few treatment options exist for the management of hearing loss. View this recent publication where 1,250 adults, between the ages of 50 and 80, surveyed show their understanding of hearing loss and how they prioritize and manage their hearing health.
We hope you find the information useful.
